"If you are living your dream, is it really a dream?" Jessie Martinez

Living miDream is based upon four main concepts

REFLECTING

Reflection is a process for obtaining valid information about one's performance and the factors that influence it.

Reflection enables us to evaluate our own experiences, understand how we think, learn from our mistakes, repeat successes, and revise and plan. A big part of self-reflection is understanding how you effect other people. You are powerful beyond measure and when you share the best version of yourself, everyone benefits.

Who are you? What matters to you? What are you passionate about? What gets you up in the morning or keeps you awake at night?

MANIFESTING

Manifesting is visioning your future.
It allows you to create what you want in our life.

Developing a personal vision and defining key beliefs play an important role in setting goals and empowering ourselves to achieve them.

Manifesting is based upon the premise that you are the primary locus of control for the direction of your life. There is a connection between the power of the mind and what happens in our life.

Ask yourself, "What is my calling, my life's aim?"

ADVOCATING

Advocating for oneself means taking responsibility for creating opportunities for learning and personal growth.

Creating a Talent Development Plan that connects talents, passion, skill development, opportunities and finances is a critical part of advocating. Developing an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of your passion is a way of seeing the world in support of your vision and key beliefs.

Advocating is making a plan, taking action, and improvising as situations change. It is identifying key initiatives that support your vision and key beliefs.

CREATING

Creating and innovating is putting imagination to work.

It is the "process of having original ideas that have value." (Sir Ken Robinson)

Innovation challenges us to find solutions to problems in unique and creative ways. It requires a paradigm shift in how we see the world around us.

Collaboration, improvisation, and motivation to make ourselves and the world a better place are core to creativity and innovation.

How we see the world matters.

Framework

"The secret to high perfomance and satisfaction at work, at school, and at home is the deeply human need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new things, and to do better by ourselves and our world."

Daniel Pink

Living miDream
helps you understand your personal motivations.

Autonomy the urge to direct one's own life.
A level of motivation where you have an awareness of your innate talents and are making active choices to develop those talents. You are setting the direction of work and life in partnership with others.

Mastery - the urge to get better and better at something that matters.
Mastery is impossible to realize fully. You're always pursuing it.

Purpose - service to something larger than ourselves.
Those who go beyond mastery in the service of some greater objective can achieve at the highest level. Purpose is hitching your desires to a cause larger than you.

Four Essential Questions Drive Your Journey

WHO AM I?

Talent+Passion

Reflection is the process of knowing oneself.

Ask yourself, "I am at my best when…"

Discovering your talents is a first step in charting your life's journey.

Understanding your personality, how you view the world around you, and how to evaluate your own innate talents and experiences are skills that can be developed and applied.

The skill of reflective thinking is a powerful process linking self-awareness with personal growth.

Celebrate who you are.

WHERE DO I
WANT TO GO?

Talent+Passion

Follow your dreams, they know the way.

Ask yourself, What problems do I want to solve?" What am I passionate about? How can I help people and the planet be better tomorrow than they are today?

What talents and skills will I need to solve those problems?

Deciding what talents you want to develop to solve those problems is a first step in charting your career path.

Align your talents, passion, and career possibilities.

When talent and passion intersect you'll know where to go.

HOW WILL I
GET THERE?

Talent+Passion

Having a vision of what you want in your life without a plan of action leads you nowhere. Create a Talent Development Plan.

Be flexible and adaptable to changing situations. Improvise when opportunities come your way.

Where can I acquire the knowledge and skills I will need?

Who can help you along my journey?

How much will my journey cost?

What is my timeline?

Do my actions align with my vision of what I want?

WHAT DIFFERENCE
WILL I MAKE?

Talent+Passion

A purpose driven life is dependent upon how you see the world. You have to dig deep to discover why you are on this earth.

What is your personal vision? What are your key beliefs, those ideals that form a solid core of who you are and that will help you make important decisions?

Socially responsible work can influence your neighborhood, your community, nation or a country on the other side of the planet. Social entrepreneurs are interested in a triple bottom line:

People
Planet
Profit

When you go to a restaurant you don't say, "bring me some food." You are specific about what you want and you pick exactly what you want from the menu.

Approach your life in the same way. Don't say, "My goal is to go to college," or "My goal is to be an artist." Be specific

The clearer and more you visualize your goal, the easier it becomes to achieve it.

Try to see yourself physically in your goal; ride in it, fly in it, rehearse it, get pictures of it, research people who are masters in it, immerse yourself within it.

What humanitarian or environmental problem(s) would you like to solve?

What careers align with your talents and passion?

What education, training, and experiences will best develop your talents and skills needed for your career?

My Image

Vision without action is merely a dream.

Action without vision just passes the time.

Vision with action can change the world.
